What do the numbers mean on an LPVO rifle scope?
Long-range rifle scopes are usually numbered in four parts, which are magnification adjustment ring, elevation turret, windage turret, and illumination adjustment knob.
- Magnification Adjustment Ring:This part allows the shooter to change the magnification level of the scope. Long-range rifle scopes often have variable magnification settings. When set to 3x, objects will appear three times closer than they would to the naked eye, and when set to 9x, objects will appear nine times closer.
- Elevation Turret: The numbers on the elevation turret of an LPVO rifle scopeindicate the amount of adjustment in either minute of angle (MOA) or milliradians (mil) that the turret provides. This component allows the shooter to make vertical adjustments to the point of the impact of the bullet. By turning the turret, the shooter can compensate for bullet drops at different distances. For example, on a rifle scope with 1/4 MOA adjustments, each click of the elevation turret will typically correspond to a 1/4 MOA change in the point of impact at 100 yards.
- Windage Turret: The windage turret has similar functions to the elevation turret. But controls horizontal adjustments to the point of impact. By adjusting the windage turret on Focuhunter rifle scopes, shooters compensate for wind drift, which can cause the bullet to veer off course.
- Illumination Adjustment Knob: The illuminated reticle on our Focuhunter rifle scopehas 11 levels of red brightness settings that can provide a precise aiming point In low-light conditions or when shooting against dark backgrounds, ensuring optimal visibility without washing out the target.
